Black Bean Brownie Recipe | Vegan Treats
This is a simple recipe for brownies that use black beans instead of flour. We chose to use black beans due to the high protein content while also providing more fibre. Don’t worry though! This recipe ensures that you get the regular taste of a chocolate, fudgy brownie.These brownies can be topped with the usual condiments
- 1.75 cup of blacked beans
- 1 cup of oats
- 1 tbsp of coconut oil
- 1 tbsp of chia seeds
- ½ cup of almond milk
- 6 tbsp of cacao powder
- Walnuts (optional)
- 3 medjool dates or 1/3 cup of stevia
How to make
Firstly, blend oats until it becomes a flour
Add the rest of dry ingredients but do not blend yet
Next microwave coconut oil until melted.
Then add all wet ingredients including the melted coconut oil
Blend all ingredients together until a batter is created. It should look something like this.
Taste mix to see if more stevia/dates are needed
Pre-heat oven to 180C and pour mix onto baking sheet. It should look something like this.

Place baking sheet in oven for 20-25 minutes. After they have cooked, take them out and allow them to cool for 30 minutes
These will firm up over time which allows them to get the brownie consistency
